Marana Womens Volleyball

Program Philosophy:

The Marana High School Volleyball Program is built on a foundation of hard work, accountability, and team-first mentality. Our mission is to develop competitive athletes who demonstrate character, resilience, and a strong commitment to personal and collective growth. We believe in cultivating a culture where discipline, effort, and communication are non-negotiable. From our freshman teams to varsity, every athlete is challenged to improve daily—physically, mentally, and emotionally. While we strive for excellence on the court, our greater purpose is to prepare young women to lead with confidence, handle adversity with grace, and represent themselves and their school with integrity. We measure our success not only by wins and losses, but by the lasting impact this program has on our athletes’ lives. Together, we create an environment where players take pride in their role, compete with heart, and leave the program better than they found it.

Tryouts & Player Evaluations

Marana High School Volleyball hosts open tryouts each year to determine placement on our Varsity, Junior Varsity, and Freshman teams. Tryouts are typically held in early August and are open to all eligible student-athletes who are committed to representing our program with integrity, discipline, and Tiger Pride.

All athletes must have a completed RMA online and be cleared with the athletic office in order to participate.

Team Placement

Tryout results will be based on a combination of skill level, attitude, and how each athlete fits into the overall team dynamic. Team placement is not guaranteed by grade level—we select the players who best align with our program standards.

Post-Tryout Communication

Athletes will be informed of team placement at the end of the tryout period. Players are encouraged to meet with the coaching staff for individual feedback and to understand areas for growth. We ask parents to follow the 24-hour communication rule before requesting a meeting or raising concerns.
